DEAD RIOT, FREE AGENT CREW AND THE 4105 ON THE HIGH SEAS

Its that time of year again, the summer is closing and the drama is building. So why no escape it all for 1 night and come along to see local punk legends Dead Riot play with NSWs finest hip hop export, Free Agent Crew, all mashed up with the huge electropop stylings of Brisbanes very own, The 4105. Its going to be a night to remember, and with an updated boat (now on a paddle steamer, not a ferry) its going to go off. Boat docks at Southbank Wharfs on the 26th.

Blam dead? Lol.

Sup kiddies! Just a quick post to dispell some things that have been going around. First of all, Blam is not dead. The only dead thing near Blam is the dead weight we’ve recently dropped. So never fear, Blam is still your one stop shop for all things happening in Brisbane, but now with improved grammar, spelling and punctuation! OPERATION OH CAPTAIN MY CAPTAIN! HELP NOW!

Operation Oh Captain, My Captain is a /b/ operation with origins in /tv/ aimed to make a stand against Conan O’Brien being essentially fired from The Tonight Show at least 100 days ago. The goal is to get the entire audience of The Tonight Show to stand on their seats at the end of the show and yell “O Captain My Captain” in a show of support for Conan.

This comes in the wake of over 9000 threads /b/ made supporting Conan when the news came down On January 12.

The primary means of achieving this is through twitter. While twitter is generally seen as fucking stupid by the denizens of 4chan, it can be a powerful tool to get the word out.

Use the tag #ohcaptainmycaptain in conjunction with #teamconan and #keepconan to make the first tag start trending.

Message #teamconan celebrities and try to get them to RT (re-tweet) the message. Once they use the tag, everyone following them will, too, and it’ll explode.

The basic goal is to get someone from the LA area to get in contact with someone who is going to be in the Tonight Show audience and relay them the instructions.

Brisbane’s Gallery of Modern Art… unfortunately i don’t get alot of time for sleep, BLAM events and BLAM Blog seem to take up most of my time.  But on the weekend i dragged myself out of bed at 11am (remember we had thriller at Rosies on Saturday night so no bed for Shane’o till 5:30am) rather seedy i got the chance to check out the latest installation at GOMA. The 6th Asia-Pacific Triennial of Contemporary Art, was a good exhibition. there isnt many places you can go and see a Suzuki van turned into a chinese mobile home or live mushroom’s with hundreds of japanese characters all over them. not to mention the room that had crazy spinning speaker’s… if you get a sunday afternoon free makes sure you give it a go. Best of all its free…

Mr Jerry blam was trolling the other night and came across this story…. at first we thought it was just another online novel that someone had written and looked quite entertaining, but after we started reading it we wern’t quite sure. Its about a group of caver’s that come across a virgin tunnel. I wont say too much because the suspense is half the fun but if your bored and like to do a little reading take a look……

Surf and Ink Tattoo Convention – Day One.

It was a hot Friday in a Queensland summer, and myself (Jerry) was on the way down to the Gold Coast for the first ever International Surf N Ink Tattoo Convention.
